We believe that opportunity changes everything.
At the Joel and Angela Robertson Legacy Foundation, we are driven by an unwavering commitment to create lasting change—opening doors to higher education, empowering grassroots initiatives, and providing vital resources to those who uplift their communities. We stand for a future where talent, hard work, and ambition are met with access, not obstacles; where every child, regardless of class, race, or background, has the chance to thrive. Whether it’s a scholarship that fuels a dream, a community project that sparks hope, or the tireless work of those serving others, we invest in the people and efforts that strengthen the human spirit. Because when we lift one life, we lift us all.
We envision a world where every individual has the opportunity to realize their full potential—regardless of background, circumstance, or means. Through scholarships, grassroots partnerships, and community support, the Joel and Angela Robertson Legacy Foundation strives to open doors, remove barriers, and invest in the promise of people. We believe that by empowering students, uplifting communities, and supporting those who serve others, we create lasting change that ripples across generations.
We are guided by the belief that opportunity changes everything. We value education as a catalyst for personal and community transformation, and we champion resilience, integrity, and compassion in all that we do. We stand committed to equity, ensuring that support reaches those with talent, determination, and dreams, regardless of background. By partnering with organizations that uplift others, we honor our responsibility to serve with purpose, transparency, and lasting impact.
We are Joel and Angela Robertson—partners in life, purpose, and the belief that every person deserves the chance to thrive. Joel, a Kansas native and proud Jayhawk, brings Midwestern roots grounded in hard work and perseverance. Angela Flores Robertson, born and raised in South San Jose, is a proud first-generation Latina, eldest daughter of Felipe and Estrella, and granddaughter of Lilia Ramirez Flores and Josefina Granada Garcia. Her path has been shaped by the sacrifices, resilience, and cariño of her family—strengths she now channels into her work as a storyteller, community leader, and advocate for youth.
Together, we founded the Joel and Angela Robertson Legacy Foundation to open doors for others. Our work is rooted in a commitment to education, community, and compassion, driven by the conviction that lifting one life can spark change for many. Side by side, we strive to create a legacy of opportunity that outlives us.

Angela Flores Robertson is a proud first-generation Latina from South San Jose, the eldest daughter of Felipe and Estrella, granddaughter of Lilia Ramirez Flores and Josefina Granada Garcia, whose childhood and family roots shaped her deep commitment to service, education, and community. As Chairperson and President of the Joel and Angela Robertson Legacy Foundation, she draws on her lived experience—of straddling cultures, bearing expectations, and growing up resilient—to lead with empathy, vision, and urgency. Under her leadership, the Foundation works to open doors to higher education, empower grassroots initiatives, support changemakers, and invest in youth, especially those who, like her, are walking pathways their parents never had.

A proud University of Kansas graduate and Kansas native, I carry with me deep roots in family, community, and the values that shaped my early years. More than two decades ago, I made the move out west to California, where I now serve as a tech executive at KIOXIA—applying my lifelong curiosity, work ethic, and drive to influence how technology can empower people and transform industries. Alongside my wife Angela, we founded the Joel and Angela Robertson Legacy Foundation, driven by the conviction that opportunity changes everything. Drawing on our own journeys and recognizing how much doors of access, mentorship, and financial support meant in our lives, we’re committed to opening doors for others—through scholarships, community partnerships, and resources for grassroots efforts—so that every child, regardless of where they start, has the chance to thrive. Because when one person is lifted up, the benefits ripple through families, communities, and generations.
